Welcome, I'm Ally Boyer, an Australian painter based on the NSW coast.

About Ally

I’m Ally Boyer, an Australian painter based on the coast of New South Wales. My work explores visual calm and perceptual softening within contemporary life, creating images that invite the eye to slow down and settle. Working primarily across landscape, I return to motifs of light on water, softened horizons, and the experience of meandering and noticing.

After several years of intermittent practice alongside my work as a social worker, 2025 marked the beginning of a sustained and intentional studio rhythm. This shift has allowed the work to deepen in both consistency and clarity of direction.

At its core, my practice offers visual relief; paintings that create space to pause, breathe and reconnect with the version of yourself that exists beyond the 9-5.

I acknowledge the Gadigal people of the Eora Nation, the traditional custodians of the unceded land on which I live and work. I pay my respects to their Elders, past, present, and emerging.
I also extend this respect to all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and their cultures. Always was, always will be, Aboriginal Land.
