Contemporary Ruins

This collection was my final body of work from Art School. It investigates the quiet histories embedded in surfaces, using plaster and fresco techniques to echo the feel of ancient ruins. Inspired by the layered remains of torn billboards, I was drawn to what’s left behind: faded textures, fragments and traces of time. These abstract works consider how surfaces act as records, holding memory through erosion, residue, and decay. In treating contemporary urban material like archaeological artefacts, I explored how history imprints itself in the everyday.
